LIGHT

LIGHT

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.”

 Isaiah 60:1 (KJV)

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

 Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

Have you ever been in a dark room where you could barely see anything? The moment you switched on the light, what happened? Everything became visible. Confusion disappeared. Direction was restored.

That is the power of light!

Light automatically dispels darkness. Darkness does not argue with light; it simply gives way. This is exactly how God expects our lives to function as Christians. We are not called to negotiate with darkness; we are called to shine.

Imagine walking down a long, dark road at night, and in the distance, only one building has its lights on. Instinctively, your attention is drawn to that building. Not because it made noise, but because it carried light.

In the same way, when a believer shines, God’s glory cannot be separated from that light. The light points beyond itself, it reveals a supernatural backing. That backing is God.

Light Was God’s First Solution

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.”

 Genesis 1:1–3 (KJV)

Scripture reveals that the earth was once chaotic, formless, empty, and covered in darkness. Yet something profound was already happening: the Spirit of God was moving (or brooding, as some translations say) over the waters.

To brood means to hover, to dwell in readiness.

Notice this carefully:

The Spirit of God was present, but He did not act until God spoke.

When God said, “Let there be light,” the Spirit immediately moved into action, giving expression to the spoken Word, and light appeared.

This shows us a divine order:

1.      The Spirit was present

2.      The Word was spoken

3.      Light was manifested

"Light did not come before the Word.

Light came because the Word was spoken.

Where There Is No Word, There Is No Light"

This is a powerful spiritual principle:

“There can only be light where God’s Word has been spoken and received”.

Many of us desire to shine, yet neglect the Word. Many of us want visibility without intimacy, influence without instruction, and glory without obedience. But light is not self-generated, it is the product of God’s Word at work in a yielded life.

When the Word of God finds expression in you, your life begins to shine naturally. And when your light shines, men do not glorify you, they glorify your Father in heaven.

Finally
it is important we bear in mind that;

1. You are not called to curse the darkness.

2. You are called to arise and shine.

3. Where the Word governs your life, light will follow.

And where we allow our light to shine, God’s glory will always be revealed.

  1. This is mine blowing.
The Holy Spirit is hovering over unbelievers and He needs us to speak the word to them so He can use it to prick their hearts and bring them to surrender
